If you get up in the morning or after a refreshing little nap in the afternoon and have symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, nasal congestion, runny or stuffy nose, ears chances are you are allergic to dust mites.
Mites belong to the same family as spiders and are often found in homes. However, they are so small, it can be seen by the naked eye. The bedroom is a perfect home for this type of house dust mites and make their homes in pillows, mattresses, blankets and bed springs. A study by researchers discovered that the bed half has two million of these creatures living in it!
During the night we shed our dead skin cells and often are linked to those who sleep on mattresses. Dust mites consume these dead skin cells and remove waste droppings on the bed. Their residues and wastes containing allergens and is the cause of most allergies. At least 10% of people are allergic to the droppings of dust mites. During his short life 80 days, dust mite produces an average of about 1,000 allergenic waste particles!
To remedy this problem in particular bedding manufacturers have developed many hypoallergenic bedding standard for mattresses. Due to its small size dust mites easily slip through the pores between the thread of the fabric of normal beds. Mattress hypoallergenic bedding is woven tightly so that the pores are too small for dust mites to penetrate and infest bedding.
Even if you suffer from allergies is a good idea to purchase hypoallergenic bedding. Keep your bedding clean and hygienic. Who wants to sleep in the droppings of dust mites anyway!
